Waste Reduction

In this workshop, you will learn about the term zero waste, what it means, where it originated from and talk about myths of the zero waste lifestyle. You will learn how Mailyne managed to reduce her waste of one year into one small jar, and what she learned from it since transitioning in 2015. You will learn how different areas of your life contribute to global waste and how you can do your part by making alternative choices. We will teach you how to shop, where to shop and show you how to make your own products like toothpaste and deodorant. Any questions you have will be answered. Be inspired to reduce your waste and transition to a greener, zero waste lifestyle.

Materials needed: pen, paper

Worm Bin Workshop

In this workshop you will learn why worm castings are the most nutrient-dense compost and how your plants will benefit. We’ll teach you how to create, build and take care of your own worm bin. Worm composting helps to reduce food waste in your home and is an alternative to the green bin. You will also learn how to compost indoors year round and understand the composting basics.
